Animesh Jain

He is the Professor and Head of Department of Community Medicine at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore. An alumnus of KMC Mangalore and Manipal, Dr. Jain has also completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Bioethics and Medical Ethics from Yenepoya University and has also had several short trainings in Research and Bioethics in India and abroad. He is the Head of Mangalore Unit of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics.

He is a FAIMER Fellow of 2008 batch from PSG FAIMER Regional Institute, Coimbatore. He is the Convener of the Manipal University Curriculum Committee and Deputy Convener of Medical Education Unit at KMC, Mangalore. He has been keenly involved in several faculty development programmes in the region. He is also a faculty for PSG FAIMER Regional Institute, Coimbatore.

Dr. Jain is a member of PhD Committee of RGUHS, Bangalore. He is also a PhD guide for Manipal University and a resource person and an expert for PhD Programmes of Yenepoya University. He is a member of Board of Studies in Community medicine of Manipal University. He is a member of many professional organizations and associations. He is the Executive Editor of the journal “Annals of Community Health.”

An avid traveller and an enthusiast photographer, he is also active in extra-curricular activities. He is also an active Rotarian and a former Rotaractor. He is happily married to Dr. Rashmi Jain, FAIMER Fellow and an Ophthalmologist working as Associate Professor at Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore. Their little princess Ira is about seven years old.
